C.P. will be partnering with Envision Virgin Racing starting Season 8 of Formula E World Championship to provide the team with an exclusive range race and travel wear.

Since its formation in 1971 by designer Massimo Osti, C.P. has been a strong supporter of motorsport. In 1988, it sponsored the Mille Miglia open-road endurance race. Its most famous Goggle Jacket was inspired by this sponsorship. The jacket incorporates goggles in the hood as well as a clear lens inside the sleeves so that racers could quickly check their time.

In a statement, both companies said that they will also collaborate to maximise their marketing strategies, including a commitment to sustainability and the safeguarding of the environment. The collection will showcase this collaboration with team members wearing pieces made of 100% recycled fabric that contains no raw materials and requires 62 percent less energy.

This common ethos and focus on sustainability will also see both companies join forces to promote Envision Virgin Racing’s ‘Race Against Climate Change,’ an initiative to accelerate the transition to clean, secure and affordable renewable energy and speed up the mass adoption of e-mobility. “Massimo Osti strongly believed in electric mobility: in the late eighties he was one of the founders of the ‘Green Turtle Team’ – one of the first electric racing teams who participated in national and international competitions. His avant-gardist outlook and support for sustainable energies continues in the partnership with Envision Virgin Racing.”
