Afterpay, a payment technology company, has released its New York Fashion Week events calendar. This will offer consumers a new level of accessibility.
Over the course of this NYFW season, Afterpay will be host to a number of online and offline activities that allow viewers and consumers to interact with fashion week through live shopping experiences and interactive events. Consumers will be able use the ‘See Now-Buy-Now’ tech at several shows, allowing them to shop the collections from the comfort of their own home.
The week kicks off with Afterpay’s Dropshop located in Times Square, combining Snapchat technology with the Dropshop concept. Dropshop was launched in April and allows Afterpay customers to get early access to limited edition collections. Customers can also try-on virtual items through Snapchat augmented reality. Afterpay will bring the Dropshop concept to New York with a physical shopping event.
Throughout the course of NYFW and beyond, consumers can also attend the House of Afterpay, a pop-up store with a number of exclusive products on offer. The House of Afterpay will host educational talks and styling workshops to help consumers get involved in the retail experience. There will also be celebrity styling sessions, a light switch at the Empire State Building and an Afterpay party.
Co-founder and co-CEO of Afterpay Nick Molnar said in a statement: “This September, Afterpay is championing the city that never sleeps, igniting New York City retail and opening fashion to the consumer in a way that has never been done before. Afterpay is proud of supporting New York City’s economy, and helping to jumpstart a new future for the fashion industry around the world with a week full of interactive events.”
