Naomi Osaka, a champion tennis player, has teamed up with Levi’s to create a capsule collection. This collection is sustainable-focused and features vintage and upcycled denim pieces. It gives a fresh take on existing Levi’s designs.
For the collection, Osaka created four distinct pieces that were a combination athletic and feminine. Osaka is a lifelong fashion fan. Osaka is quoted in the promotional video for the collection as saying that “When I was little, my little sister and me would drive for hours and our little brother would go for car rides. We would then have fashion design battles with my dad and pick the winner. It’s something we have always done growing up.”
The collection also draws on Osaka’s Japanese heritage with a denim kimono and matching obi belt. Two styles of denim shorts are included, as well as a trucker jacket bustier. On August 24, select Levi’s stores and the Levi’s App will have the Levi’s x Naomi Osaka collection.
