It is one of the most overlooked watches that the Swiss brand makes. This is a hint at Antetokounmpo’s more thoughtful approach to watch collecting than his fellow athletes.
The Sky-Dweller is youngest model, having only hit the market in 2012, and is one of the brand’s largest and most unique watches. This is Rolex’s only annual calendar watch. It also features dual time zones. The Sky-Dweller is a unique hybrid of a dress watch with a tool watch, which is often overlooked by Rolex customers.
A GMT watch like the famous GMT-Master, the Sky-Dweller has a truly unique approach to telling time that’s quite unlike any other watch. The Sky-Dweller’s dial indicates local time and date using the center hands and the 3 o’clock date window. This is so far so common, but it also shows the month through the small rectangular windows that are located next to the hour markers. These windows change from white to pink. The 24-hour disc at the center of the dial indicates a second time zone. This is your home time.
Unlike many of Rolex’s other watches, the Sky-Dweller has never been offered in straight stainless steel, always being totally constructed from precious metal (specifically, gold) or featuring some combination of gold and steel. Giannis’ Sky-Dweller is, for instance, made from ‘White Rolesor’, which is a combination Rolex’s Oystersteel with 18ct white, and an Oystersteel bracelet.
