Milan Fashion Week is just one week away. It will be held from September 21 through 27. We summarizes everything you need to know as well as all the events and shows worth your attention.
The majority are physical shows
Milan Fashion Week will host over 170 appointments within a week. 125 of these appointments will be held in-person. 42 of 65 shows planned will be held by established and new brands. Many confirmed their presence, including Max Mara and Etro, Salatore Ferragamo (Salvatore Ferragamo), Versace, Prada, Fendi, Missoni, and Versace. Italy’s Green Pass, which grants access to indoor venues, will allow guests to attend the event, but only if they meet these criteria.
Some will be able to return to the calendar.
Milan Fashion Week will be back with a variety of brands – each of which are organising physical events. Roberto Cavalli, Fausto Puglisi and Boss will host the show. Moncler will be back with a Milanese catwalk September 25.
…a first Milan show for others
Milan Fashion Week will also see the debut of other brands. MM6 Maison Margiela, a young Italian label, will open on September 23. Vitelli, a Chinese womenswear brand, will then follow suit on September 24. A few new brands will also be added to the official calendar, including Traffico, Colville, Roberto di Stefano, and Andreadamo.
Exhibition Armani to be Held
Armani will host a special event at Silos’ exhibition venue, September 23. It will unveil the preview of its exhibit “The Way We Are”. This event will celebrate Emporio Armani’s 40th anniversary and pay tribute the Italian brand’s history with a variety of exclusive content.
Moschino and Bottega Veneta, as well as Gucci will have off-schedule shows
Many are returning to Milan but some brands are not interested in the Milan schedule, at least for one season. Last week, Moschino presented its collection in New York. Bottega Veneta will host the runway show in Detroit on Oct 21. Gucci, on the other hand will present its collection in Los Angeles this November 2nd as it is the sponsor for the LACMA Art+Film gala that takes place the same week. The brand will be present in Milan with its “Vault” event on September 25, however.
Digital formats still going strong
Many brands are opting to continue with digital presentations and shows for another season. They host virtual events throughout each week. Online fashion week is moving to digital, with key labels like Emilio Pucci, Dsquared2, Philippe Plein and Antonio Marras showcasing their latest collections online.
