Megan Thee Stallion, a Grammy-winning rapper, has announced a long-term collaboration with Popeyes fast-food chain. The artist will release merchandise that complements the new specials on the restaurant’s menu.

Thee Heat, the first collection of the Popeyes Megan Thee Stallion merchandise line, will be available in three exclusive drops via an official website. The pieces include a bikini, cropped tee and long-sleeve shirt with fire-printed tops. Each item features prints that relate to the forthcoming ‘Hottie Sauce’ release.

Sami Siddiqui (president of Popeyes Americas) stated that the unique partnership between Popeyes and Megan Thee Stallion is far more than a typical marketing collaboration. “We are unifying two icons of pop culture, and Megan’s creative, innovative and entrepreneurial vision is at our core.”

“Megan created a custom sauce for our Chicken Sandwich, and it’s the first time we have ever done so. Megan designed three new merchandise lines that will capture Megan’s unique style. We are delighted to welcome Megan to our Popeyes franchisee family. We look forward to working with her for many years as she embarks on her journey as a restaurateur.”

Celebrities have been embracing the fast-food collaboration trend as a new endorsement for the food business. Last year, Viral TikToks saw teens explore different ways to order Travis Scott’s McDonald’s meal. Other locations also landed Shawn Mendes and Miley Cyrus for speciality products. Many collaborations saw more expansion in the form merchandise collections, along with the star-inspired creations.

The chain released a range of complementary merchandise following the success of Charli’s Dunkin Donuts cold brew. McDonald’s, a frequent collaborator in the collaboration realm, launched a range Sawetie Meal merchandise. It highlighted the singer’s personal interests.

K-pop star BTS has also teamed up with popular fast-food chain McDonald’s for a meal. This inspired Josiah Chua to create a viral sneaker design. It features a chicken nugget holder as well as an on-hand sauce package. Although not officially part of the partnership the shoe design was noticed by many fans who wanted to purchase the alternative footwear.

Megan Thee Stallion, a partner in this venture, has become the owner of a Popeyes franchise. This deal is in addition to her creation of a speciality condiment for Popeyes, and a new Popeyes chicken sandwich that was a viral online phenomenon two years ago.

On the collaboration, the star stated: “I am appreciative for Popeyes commitment to empowering Black woman and look forward opening Popeyes Restaurants. It was a significant milestone in my evolution as an entrepreneur and is a great honor to have teamed up with Popeyes. Popeyes is a brand I have loved since childhood and I am thrilled to be able to help them create their new Megan Thee Stallion Hottie Sauce.”

Megan and Popeyes will also make a significant donation to Housten Random Acts of Kindness. This support its efforts to promote the welfare of others in Megan’s hometown of Houston.
