Nordstrom, multibrand retailer, has entered into a partnership to market Black Owned Everything, which promotes Black-owned businesses and Zerina Akers, its founder.
Akers and Nordstrom collaborated to create a curated selection that featured four Black-owned brands. It was displayed alongside the new Nike and Jordan collections in Nordstrom x Nike’s dedicated online space.
The curation includes labels by William Okpo and Sammy B. L’Enchanteur, handbag designer Brandon Blackwood, and L’Enchanteur.
Akers released, “When Black Owned Everything was launched back in February, I thought partnerships like Nike and Nordstrom x Nike would be exactly what I wanted to increase the reach of Black designers whom I mentor.”
She said, “This intersection between well-established brands as emerging designers is where the progression of Black Owned Everything takes place.”
“The selection of these designers is a major step forward for their individual careers and a huge step in the right direction to the American market and beyond.
“This curation is fun and mixes fashion and lifestyle pieces for people who love street style and functionality.”
Black Owned Everything merchandise, in addition to the online presence, will be available at four Nordstrom Nike pop-ups located in the US.
