Levi’s denim brand is teaming up Mabel, a London pop singer, as part of its Music Project. This has previously worked with Skepta and SZA, Loyle Carner, and Snoop Dogg.

The partnership will give the platinum-selling singer a rare glimpse into her creative process to help rising talent within the Levi’s Music Project community.

It is also digitally going digital with a brand new Discord channel. This will provide young talent tools that help them to build skills, collaborate, and take on challenges. Mentorship opportunities are available for the winners.

Mabel will lead participants from the studio onto the stage. She’ll discuss her emotion-focused writing process which she has been developing since age five and offer tips for overcoming creative obstacles such as overthinking, stage fear, and writer’s block.

Mabel will also be seated with Cameron Gower Poole, her vocal producer, and engineer, for an intimate conversation about writing and recording. Mabel will break down her self-love song ‘Let Them know’, which she wrote with Raye and Mnek with production by SG Lewis.

Mabel will also challenge the Levis Music Project community on ‘Let Them know’. She will provide feedback to her five favourite entries via Discord, and the overall winner will get to work with an industry insider at Levi’s Studio.

Mabel, who was asked about Levi’s Music Project’s membership, said that she had never been confined to a particular genre. Music is about feeling. I have always believed that I can sing more than I can speak. I want to encourage others to not be ashamed of who they are.

“The human experience is all about connection. It’s not about giving people perfect performances. It’s about giving people a piece of yourself that is authentic. It’s so magical to be able do this through lyrics and melodies.”

Levi’s is also supporting Youth Music, which is a national charity that invests in youth organisations and young people to make music more accessible for 0-25 year-olds.
