As online shoppers by trade, our radar is activated anytime we detect unusual activity in the shop-o-sphere – and the latest product to send us running to our screens is Murad’s Targeted Wrinkle Corrector, a powerful blend of hyaluronic acid, hexapeptide, and squalane from the longtime science-backed skincare brand. The innovative treatment has been receiving rave reviews since its debut on December 9. We had to look closer. Murad spokesperson confirmed that Targeted Wrinkle Corrector was the brand’s most successful launch in three years. It accounted for 30% of Murad’s sales during the week it was launched. The product’s applicator is not subtle and evokes a syringe filled with filler. However, the packaging is much more than a marketing gimmick. According to some reviewers (some of which received samples in advance), the results are very similar to an in-office treatment for wrinkles and fine lines.
Although we haven’t had the chance to actually try the product yet, we couldn’t ignore the hype. One satisfied reviewer said that she expected to see results in a minimum of a month, but was surprised to see instant results. The serum’s fast payoff is what makes it so appealing. Hyaluronic acid is bioavailable, meaning it’s easily absorbed by skin. It has an immediate effect on filling in lines. Murad advises that the filler be applied to the forehead, the “elevens”, (the two lines between your eyebrows when you furrow them) and around your nose, eyes, lips and mouth. However, you can target specific areas and begin by applying it where you would like to see fewer lines.
One reviewer said that they saw a reduction in wrinkles and folds around the nose, mouth, and crows feet. They also noticed a slight reduction in spots. Although the results won’t last for long, Murad points out that regular use can have a positive impact on your skin. Another reviewer echoes this sentiment, “I noticed a noticeable improvement in my fine lines and received compliments about how beautiful my skin looks. It’s easy to use – just a small amount goes a long.”
Like the bottle, the results are very similar to Botox treatments you would normally receive at a dermatologist. Murad sells the serum as an alternative for filler. This could be because you don’t want to make an appointment, or simply aren’t ready to take the plunge. The formula contains three heroes products that target wrinkles of the past, present and future (Although we are pro-aging, for the record). Aside from the hyaluronic acid for a line-filling effect, hexapeptide complex helps add natural bounce to the skin. Plant-derived squalane is available to prevent future wrinkles. Another reviewer says that she tried many products and could not find one that quickly erased my fine lines. “This product instantly gave my skin a boost and significantly reduced the fine lines around my eyes, forehead, cheeks, and nose.”
We’ll give you a quick introduction to the brand if you aren’t familiar with it. In 1989, Dr. Howard Murad, founded his skin-care brand. The brand’s patent-pending products were born out of a desire to improve skin health. Our shopping team already loves the brand’s high performance products, which address everything from wrinkles to dark spots to acne. As a teenager with severe, persistent acne, I relied on the brand’s breakout-busting products.
The fun part is over. The price for the tiny tube is $78. Many reviewers agree that the concentrated product is very effective. This is especially true when you consider that hyaluronic-filled syringes can cost as much as $700. However, Murad cautions that the instant results may not last so be realistic about your expectations.
This new filler-ina-tube has received rave reviews and is made with tried-and-true ingredient.
