The new Kawana sneaker has been launched by Hoka, a division from Deckers Brands. The Kawana’s name is derived from the famous beach on the Australian Gold Coast. It provides HOKA cushion, which can be used for running, walking, and even everyday use. The new foam provides long-lasting support.

The Kawana is a unique product in our product line, nestled between the Bondi 7 (popular) and Clifton 8. It offers a balanced, smooth, lively comfort with support. The Kawana provides premium comfort with our signature cushion and meets our customer’s need for a shoe that can be worn every day. Gretchen Weimer is vice president of product at Hoka.

The Kawana features several midsole geometries that were borrowed from the Fly and Hoka Glide franchises to deliver on its promise of a smooth ride or run. The Kawana is inspired by the Mach 4’s immediate success and features a SwallowTail heel geometry for a soft landing. The crash pad transforms from a 5mm drop and grooved sole into an Early Stage Metarocker, making the gait cycle extremely smooth and accessible.

The Kawana weighs 10.4 ounces in a size 7 and 9.4 ounces in a size 9. The Kawana’s new upper is vegan recycled jacquard-mesh. It features an extended heel pull and an anatomical Achilles construction to provide a slipper-like and comfortable fit.

Innovation is something you’ll always see at HOKA. In order to help athletes reach their full potential, we are always looking for new solutions to improve the performance of our products. Weimer stated that the Kawana allowed us to draw inspiration from boundary-pushing products such as the TenNine and Mach 4 franchises and make them palatable for everyday athletes to create something new and completely unique, but still authentically HOKA.

The Kawana is available now at HOKA.com in the U.S. and will be available to official retailers later in the month. The sneaker retails for 140 dollars.
