Forget sore, scrubbed skin. This new type of exfoliant uses a gentle touch to create a radiant, glowing complexion.
Exfoliator. Exfoliating. Exfoliants. They don’t seem very friendly, do they? Although exfoliating was a brutal act in the past to remove dull and congested skin for clearer, smoother skin that is light-reflecting and blackhead-free was a common practice. Brands (and people) are realizing that exfoliating doesn’t need to be a painful process to achieve a glowing complexion. AHAs, also known as acids, are what I love. They include glycolic, lactic and salicylic acids, but they are becoming increasingly popular in mandelic. These liquids exfoliate dead skin cells, and increase cell turnover. This will make your skin look brighter. You don’t even have to rinse the liquid off. Although you won’t be able to see the dead skin cells, the signs are there: dullness, congestion and sluggishness. Your once-effective skincare products will become less effective. Which exfoliator is best? Which exfoliator is better? A liquid (chemical) or a scrub (physical)? I didn’t used to recommend scrubs. There were many stories about people washing their faces until they fell asleep. Scrubs today are more well-formulated. However, it is important to be careful with both liquids and scrubs. For sensitive skins, I recommend that you start every other day.
