Pangaia, a material science innovator, has revealed the first shirt made entirely from Infinna textile fibre. The launch of the new T-shirt concept coincides with Pangaia’s multi-year agreement signed with Infinited Fiber Company, a textile technology and circular fashion group.

The Pangaia x Infinna shirt is the first shirt made from 100 percent Infinna. This regenerated textile fibre has a soft, natural feel and look similar to cotton.

Pangaia says the capsule was created to show that fashion can recycle textile waste and make textile circularity a reality. She also highlights how 100 percent recycled fibres don’t have to compromise on appearance or feel.

Craig Smith, Pangaia’s director of research and development, stated that “Pangaia continues to search for technologies that will help us utilize waste streams, and Infinna reimagines the ways we can recycle and manage textile scrap.”

“This capsule shows that we can make beautiful products entirely from recycled fibres. This launch marks the beginning of a new era in textile recycling.”

Pangaia signs multiyear deal with Infinited Fiber Company

Pangaia Lab Powered By Infinited Fibre collection is made from Infinna. This is made from cotton-rich textile scrap that has been broken down at the molecular levels so that the cellulose can be captured and reborn as new fibers. Infinna, which is made from cellulose, a key building block of all plants’, is biodegradable. Infinna’s long-term goal is to recycle clothes made with it in the same way as other textile waste.

Kirsi Terho is the Infinited Fiber key accounts director. She said: “We envision a future in which waste isn’t discarded but used as a valuable resource. Pangaia is leading the charge in discovering circular materials that can replace virgin resources.”

“We couldn’t be happier for their customers to wear shirts made 100% from textile waste. This textile waste has been broken down at the molecular levels to give new life to textile fibres. This collection is a way to change perceptions about regenerated textiles as inferior.”

The ‘Infinite Tee,’ from the Pangaia Lab Powered By Infinited Fiber Collection, is available in two versions: with short sleeve or long sleeve. It features a graphic inspired to circularity. Pangaia.com will launch the limited-edition products on April 5. The T-shirt will retail for 75 US Dollars and the long-sleeve shirt, for 85 US.
